16inch dobson was created by Janek
Hi,
here is my new telescope. It is 16 inch dobsonian f 1/4.3. Mirror is only 1 inch thick, so it cools down almost instantly.
Telescope weight 70 pounds and is foldable.

Hi Janek, that's a beauty, it must give some super sights, I hope it's foldable enough before the tide comes in

Very nice scope Janek.
I'de be weary of that sand .
I'm currently building a 14.7" f4.51 Dob at the moment. The mirror is a fuzed silica quartz that only 3/4" (19mm)thick. I had it made by Mark Cowan of Obsidian Optics. He has it back from coating and it should be ready for shipping this week .
The scope will weigh in at about 40lbs (19kg) with accesories when complete. It's gonna be a truss style Dob .
Now I have to clear up a bit of diy around the house before I go mental building the scope.
Clear skys .

I prefer this design over Obsession like scopes. It is ready for observation in 10 minutes. It protect mirror and have way better contrast. Scope is factory made, Elbi is small Czech producer.

. I shipped it to Ireland recently.
Joner: good luck with your scope. I build 20 pounds 10" trust tube dobsonian with thick mirror. 16" thin mirrors are very tricky. BTW: my whole scope was cheaper then your mirror
