Wow, thats a seriously thin mirror for that size, if it were pyrex you'd have to very carefully design the mirror cell to prevent distortion.

Well, every scope has its benifits and pitfalls, I have often found that the shroud on my truss scope induces some sort of tube currents and visiblly reduces the planetary views, but for deepsky, I do leave it on unless its windy.

Hi Dave.

I'm using an 18 point mirror cell designed with Plop.

I have built the main Uta cage today. I have to build the spider and holder now for the secondary.

I'm building the Dob so the Uta stores inside the mirror box . The rings are 1" wide to help with this.


I'm taking pics and will post a build log as the scope progress's along.
