Thanks lads. I've actually made filters before
for the solar eclipse in Siberia.
Trouble is they just don't last.
I'll just make a glass cover for it for now.
I'll look into what kind of glass is used
on scopes anyway seeing as I work with the stuff.

Crazy. Just a quick search and I came across
glass companies selling sheets of optical glass.
