AC 400 MegaWedge Pro

I am considering getting one for my LX200R 10" and would appreciate any advice/opinions/experience with this piece of equipment. The lowest price I can find is at Pulsar Optical at £475 + shipping.

Nice bit of kit received one today have had no time to install it but looks good.Pulsar Optical were the only one's I could find with £10.00 postage costs and only took two day to arrive.

You've seen the wedge I use for the 12" and the AC wedge is supposed to be better,
Looks like a superior product to me.

Hi Paul, Thanks for letting me know. Did you get the steel or aluminium version? I queried shipping costs and am waiting for a reply so glad to hear what you paid. I was considering the Polarmate to go with it. Did you buy this also? I would love to know how you get on.

Dave, The sales splurge says this wedge is low profile and only suited to latitudes between Finland and Gibraltar unlike the Meade Ultrawedge which is designed to be used worldwide. It comes in steel (£369) and aluminium (£485). I intend to use this on a tripod and expect the aluminium to be lighter but I cannot find out what the actual difference is. Yes, I have seen your wedge but I cannot recall much of the detail.

the wedge I have here could not be used world wide, its does have latitude limits.
buts thats neither here nor there.
Is the steel wedge stainless steel or just powder coated steel?, aluminium is a soft metal by comparison, is there any chance of ripping threads or is that been over worried?

If the steel is stainless, then personally I'd go for that, cant rust and is a hard tough metal but would be alot heavier.
