Based on the aluminium parts of the AP1200, I'd be quicker shredding my arm muscles just *trying* to strip a thread. The AP uses machined aircraft-grade aluminium - strong as you like and lighter than steel. I really can't see how you could strip a thread - at least without the use of a power tool.
