If you do go down the camera lens route make sure you buy a good lens. A cheap lens will ruin a good camera. A good lens will make a cheap camera shine. Your camera is a good one ! F2.8 at a minimun

Paul, Tele converter lens can work well, with a good fixed focal length lens.
I use a 500nn f/8 maksutov lens and a 3x teleconverter on a 40D works ok
.Also you don't need an astrograph For lunar shots
A 500 mm to 600mm scope, with a two x barlow hits the sweet spot with your Camera.
