NGC6888 and Veil Nebula

Some images from last night. Decent enough sky although the Moon was above the horizon. Definitely needs more data and slightly longer exposures. Autoguiding is now becoming a must if I want to go deeper and get that extra bit of nebulosity. Also forgot to turn the camera over to RAW mode, which doesnt help.

well done dave, nice work. looks like your going to get some good images with that scope. when you get used to it you'll get some great images.

Silly question, how to you attach a filter to the camera? Or is this the reason for "rear cell" filters?

I was thinking of getting some sort of light pollution filter, but I cant see a way to attach a 1.25" or even a 2" filter to the camera. I've basically a netwtonian scope, so cant use these mythical "rear cell" filters.

Not a silly question at all. The parks LPR is a standard 1.25" threaded filter It screws into the 1.25" nosepiece, which in turn screws into the T ring, which attaches to the camera. Of course this only works with SLRs. For a fixed lens camera it would be more difficult. I know lumicon sell full aperture filters but they're expensive.

What I really wanna do is do some tricolor narrowband imaging using Ha, OIII and SII filters. Might be asking santa for these!
