Hi All,
Isn't it strange weather we're getting, one minute its dense fog, next its rain, next its prestine clear skies, well, I got a few minutes of clear sky and got a glimpse of Mars between the rainfall, so after having a good look through the eyepiece, I slapped on the toucam.

Has anyone else noticed that Mars has lost abit of its brilliance/intensity with the naked eye, or am I imagining this.

No, I noticed the same thing myself last night - it's appreciably dimmer than it was at the start of November when it reached it's brightest/closest approach to Earth. Obviously, this downward trend in brightness and apparent diameter is set to continue (from -1.6 to -0.6 in December, according to S&T), so enjoy it while you can!

Thanks lads, as I finished recording the AVI last night, it started to rain, more like snow and got up this morning to a see a blanket of snow on the ground,
Thermometer in the dome reads a minimum of -2 last night.
This image is one of the occasions where I could see more in the eyepiece then what was captured by the camera.

Superb image there Dave. You've got quite a lot of subtle detail there in such a small disk- no easy task! Gives the rest of us an idea of how clear your skies were before the 'snow' fell!
