Saturn & The Beehive Cluster M44 was created by Keith g
Hi all, I was out myself last night, doing some piggyback again, a lovely clear night, but lots of skyglow due to the festive cheer - and plenty of dew as well (no not the Tullamore stuff!!!!!) Here's the best shot of Saturn near the beehive cluster M44, it will be closer in late January, but it's a lovely sight in binos or through the scope at the moment :D

This is a single exposure, I tried stacking but the quality of the sky looked worse! :(

Details: 4mins Canon 300D, Canon ef 85mm lens at f3.2, ISO400

Spectacular image Keith! I love the twinkle effect with Saturn - very Christmassy! ;) Super amount of sharp stars there too, in the shot as a whole - well done!

Keith, did you use 4 wires on the aperture of the camera?, see 8 spikes on Saturn a very nice effect.

Keith,

Stunning shot, I think it captures the scene wonderfully.
