Neil,
Did you place the webcam with its lens up to an eyepiece for the moon image (eyepiece projection), I just cant imagine you got that image using prime focus (no webcam lens nor eyepiece).

You can get the entire moon in the FOV of the webcam,

Ive notived that there is less cromatic abbrivation on theese pictures taked without eyepiece with the etx-70.
Is it the eyepieces that came with the scope that makes the abbrivation?

I found the the supplied eyepieces made the image worse compared to the series 4000 eyepieces I have.
