That looks like the lead alright. Any PC shop will have them for 5 or 6 euro. It seemes to be a fairly standard item now.

The usb cable is whats called usb type A to mini usb?

Canon supplies the software with new cameras, and I think you can download it from their website; however, that might just be for updates.

They provide an application called ZoomBrowser EX which allows RAW-JPEG conversion along with basic file management, and a somewhat more sophisticated application called Digital Photo Professional. Photoshop should do it too.

got the usb cable now and trasfaring the images now. the cable was expensive ! bought localy but costs me more to go to town or getting it by mail.
Looks good now, cant wait to see the pictures Already taken 100 of them (no astrophotos, dont have adapter)

The driver is "Canon EOS 300D WIA Driver" and i got it from canons site (its for winME and winxp)

I still have some of those quick release cables left. although the price went up last year to 20E +p&p. still good value me thinks.
