Why, did you not know??
For the benefit of others here, I removed the detail on the sun's disc as there wasn't significant activity on the disc today in the area of the image shown. It simplifed the processing of the image just to work on the prominences.

Holy Cow! You're really getting your money's worth out of that scope lately Mike! Nice touch blocking out the sun's disk to enhance the flares/prominences.

Fantastic image Michael. Just got out of hospital this afternoon after 5 days so rushed out with my PST to have a look as soon as I read your post. Beautiful! Best view of prominences I've seen to date. Wonder if the large piece will break away.

Super activity today on the Sun. Very large prominences. Fabulous to look at. Below is an image I took just a few minutes ago.
