nice image :)

Stupid question maybe, but are there any filters that let you see (take photos) true the glow?

Eirik,

Light Pollution Filters (LPR) block out a lot of the skyglow, and let some of the good wavelenghts through. However they are really only good for nebulae. They dont work for imaging galaxies and comets and stuff like that because they block some of the light from those meaning much longer exposures and also a much reduced range of colour in the image.

I am fast finding out that your better off without them for imaging.

Great for seeing faint nebulae from your back yard though!

Fantastic image Dave!

That Atik is really producing the images.

Later,

Jed.

Any idea how far frag C moved in the 45 minute time period? Also, what mag is frag C?

A little bit of math for a rainy night methinks.

Thanks for all the comments guys.

Nice shot Dave, as was already mentioned, tracking was spot on. It looks, coincidentaly, that the comet, at that time, was travelling with the stars! I say this, because given the comets apparent direction of motion, the stars should have different angled trails!

By the way, it got me thinking. What about someone trying a RGB composite of it? Reminds me of the same of Halleys Comet way back...
