Those are exceptional images considering how low it is.
Did you consider trying the capture it with the Mak?

coruscations attending the whole length of the luminosity, giving to the phenomena the aspect of a wrathful messenger, and not that of a tranquil body pursuing a harmless course..comet of 1680

I didnt see it Martin but that doesnt mean it wasnt there, I captured an AVI later on in the night but the seeing got worse as the night went on, but I'll look for it post registax anyway.
John, its very interesting that you prefer the first image, I almost prefer the second image, on my monitor its details look a little crisper although I prefer the colour balance in the first one, what makes you prefer the first?
Michael, I'm using the MAK visually at the moment, I havent got around to planetary imaging with it yet. That cheapo meade 3x barlow that came with the etx 70 is just amazing

I went back and processed a jupiter AVI that was taken at 2.05am, the seeing had deteriorated compared to earlier in the evening so I hadnt placed any importance on the AVI, after I processed I noticed something odd to the lower right of the GRS, after checking on the web, this has to be GRS junior, there was no hint of it in the AVI.
The top image is in the same orientation as the image in the first post, the lower image is in the same orientation as the images in the link below.
www.universetoday.com/am/publish/baby_red_spot.html
The image is quite hazy due to the bad seeing at the time, there is also more colour distortion, I guess this is due to the lower altitude and worsening turbulance at the time. If anyone wants to take up the challenge of removing it, please feel free to give it a try.
Thanks for the tip off Martin, I probabilty would not have processed this image today if you hadnt mentioned it above.

Yeah, I think that's Jnr. alright, It's just appeared from about a month ago. It's a pity that Jupiter will be quite low for the next 5 years or so , unless you take a trip to the southern hemisphere
