Stunning images Dave. I'm amazed by the difference the mod made.

Both are gorgeous, but IMO I think the wide field is a bit more "majestic" for want of a better word :wink:

Dave: I think you've hit the nail on the head there. I beleive the biggest mistake that people make when starting out is rushing to get results. I remember when I began doing this the merest flash of red on the back of the camera was enough to send me into a frenzy where I couldnt wait to get processing and in doing so missing out on getting enough quality data to make a decent image.


Hmm. Yes, gone are the days when I though a single five second exposure of M42 was going to give me highly detailed wisps of gas and dust in Technicolor but became disappointed after the second hour of processing... :roll: :wink:

maybe 10 hours or more worth of data and see what that looks like
