Saturn, poor seeing was created by dave_lillis
Hi All,
I was up in the small hours on Sunday morning last weekend trying to get a glimpse of Saturn, the seeing was just terrible, I cought a pic, the cassini ring was hardly visible, and I swear I haven't been playing around with the scopes optics. It was fairly low in the sky when I saw it.

I was surprised at how much the planet had tilted since last year, the change is fairly big.

Still a really nice shot all the same Dave. What about making a larger image? I mean, there IS a lot of detail in it to show off you know!

hey man you must be quite a perfectionist thats not to bad at all ,i mean your seeing will obviously be restricted the lower down in the sky the object is.What where the techicinal details exposure, equiptment, etc

oh wise man why is the universe so perfect?ah because symmetry loves herself.

Hi Dave

Good image there. You managed to get to blue coloring of the Nrth pole as it comes out of ring eclipse. I'm amazed that you got the detail you did considering the wx we've been having. the cassini div is closing up also now making it harder to image. Bigger size and specs please...

Hi Lads,
Sorry for the late reply on this, I totally forgot about it, alot going on here at the moment.
thanks for the kind words, Here is a full res shot of it

Its fairly fuzzy, thats why I left it out originally.

Equipment = 12" meade lx200, toucam pro + IR blocking filter, 2 xbarlow.
1700 frames were stacked, this is an uncropped image, so this is the full frame size of the toucam. For the first time in a long time I couldnt visually make out the entire cassini division due to the bad seeing. I cant wait to get it with some good seeing! 8)

Just to give you a comparison, here is an image from February this year, note the ring tilt and what good seeing does for the image, same scope, camera and location.
