I sheltered behind the house tonight to check out my WO 66SD with the H16 camera. The following is a rough process but I will really require a field flattener since I have evidence of sausage stars in the corners. Hot pixels are also evident. Image was L:Ha:G:B 30:10:10:10 minutes

Lovely image Kieran!
That seems to be a decent camera you have there.

Kieran - that's nice. Good focus, well framed and certainly tracking is good.

I see the hot pixels - did you take any calibration frames? Darks/flats? If you didn;t, you'll certainly see the difference.

Is the H16 the Starlight Express imager?

Cheers
Dave

Dave,

I only took darks and flats for the luminance images. I did not have time for flats for Ha, G and B since the nebula would have been behind the house before I would have finished. The H16 is a Starlight.

I'm surprised that the darks still resulted in very evident hot pixels. Though, I thought there was a possibility they're not hot pixels. If there is a star very bright in Ha but hardly visible in other filters, could that result in what looks like a hot pixel? I'm no expert on Ha by the way :D

Cheers
Dave
