Anytime! It probably wont happen again!

We shall not cease from exploration
And the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time. . . .

Dave,
that is an absolutly stunning piece of work!

Great detail in the cloudbands,
the blue atmosphere at the pole is in nice contrast to the
darker south.

The placement of the image into the black background works brilliantly.
(Hey..If that technique is good enough for Mr. Peach..then... )
It gives you a real sense of it actually bieng an object hanging in space.

One observation, the image is a tiny bit pixelated around the edges
and in between the Cassini division.
Maybe a slight reduction in size would combat this.

Other than that it's fab.

Have you any plans on imaging again on the 10th (opposition) to see
if there is a noticable Seeliger Effect?

Why not, if the weather is good then it will probability be the last favourable time for a number of years, until the rings have re-opened appreciably.

There is a tiny bit of pixilation here and there, it really is at the limits of the cameras resolution, I need a longer focal length or a finer pixel camera.
I tried to blend it out without loosing detail and contemplated reducing the image size to hide it but figured that sitting a tiny bit further from the screen has the same effect.
I didn't know Mr Peach or others also used this technique, I just figured it would give a more natural colour balance and be alot more striking with a big dark background..
I'll be reprocessing this image and will put up the results, good and bad,

Dave,
are'nt we only back from the London Astrofest on the 10th around 8pm...
that'd be a long day if you plan on imaging that night!

Yea,
I never noticed it before that Peach did this,
only untill one night I was looking at his website on the laptop
and spotted it.
I had the screen angled further back than normal and it
showes up.

(his images are obviously fantastic but the cropping and then
filling of the dark areas around the planet is kinda obvious....
maybe its ment to be?)

As for the camera,
Who knows what you might pick up in London
:)

I'm really looking forward to the trade stands there , hopefully I'll see something I like.
If I'm not too tired and its clear, I'll be out looking at Saturn.
