Canon 350D (Help Needed) was created by darren
A friend of mine tried cleaning his camera with a Lenspen "Sensorclear". He cleaned the mirror and the sensor oand now there is even more dust and hairs inside the camera. It seems that if some of the bristles came off the brush and are now inside the camera. Before he cleaned the camera there was one spec of dust which did not show up on the photo, but now when he takes a photo there are blemishes showing up on the picture. Does anybody know how to fix this.

Regards
Darren

How about trying to repeat the procedure with a new brush? And wear a clean T-shirt instead of a long-sleeve, or fleece, to eliminate the amount of dust in the air around the camera.

I'd be inclined to suggest a can of compressed air and just blow it all clean .... works for computery things!

I use a tiny camera minivac to take loose dust out and a VERY soft brush if there is still some left. But you have to do it really gingerly.

I have a couple of normal lenspens and there is no way that the brush on these is suitable, maybe the SensorKlear version is better though.

I tried to use compressed air or a blower but it just moved the dust to harder to reach places like the baffles or even lodged on the pentaprism itself.

If there's still alot of dust I'd suggest sensorswabs. More costly but they are supposed to be the best method.

Hi Darren, the same thing happened to me years ago with a canon d60. I thought I had ruined the camera, as I tried every conceivable method of cleaning inside the camera. Trevor is bang on with the sensorswabs idea as it was the only way that I could cleaned it in the end. I would suggest using compressed air and the swabs together, which can be found in any camera shop. Good luck!

The sensorswabs (pecpads or whatever they are called) and eclipse cleaner is the best option. The swabs are lint free and in a sealed packet and have been made in a dust free environment. thats what I use on the 350D - expensive but the best option.

Be careful with compressed air as very often stuff other than air comes out of those cans.
