Moon tonight was created by Frank Ryan
I haven't imaged the moon in any kind of detail for
ages so tonight I did a little bit of work.

CLAVIUS

COPERNICUS

Let me know what ye think.
Cheers.

Frank

Great images Frank,
Did you use unsharp mask in photoshop?

Nice images Frank, but there is something about them that is blurry/doubled. I don't know if what Dave said about unsharp mask in PS would help or not.

What I'm suggesting is that too much unsharp mask might have been used.
All the same, I really like the Copernicus image, some fine detail in there.

Hi Frank

Looks like they're nearly there, only thing I can suggest is to take the raw imgs into Regi and use gaussian wavelet I find they work best on lunar imgs

Second look, yep, they look 'over enhanced'
I didn't go too mad with the unsharp mask so I must
figure out what it is thats giving that stark look.

The image of Clavius has a strange effect alright in that if you look to the
top rim of the crater wall you see all the small hills and boulders have
very elongated shadows which give it a curious 'out of focus' / double effect.
I'm sure the focus isnt bang on either but its strange effect none the less.

Cheers for the advice.
I must give another stab at these to see can I get them more natural looking.
