This is a SERIOUS image and worthy of every compliment. It is a great example of what a globular cluster is and represents.

Thanks for all the kind comments guys n' gals.

Quite frankly I was amazed myself when this one popped up on screen. I think the key here was the longer exposures. I had never really considered M13 in need of lenghty exposures. Because it's so bright the tendency is to think in terms of lots of short exposures. I knd of backs up the thinking siscussed in the thread on Michael's wonderful M51 image.

Another thing to watch out for. I got a call from a reporter from the Indo today and they are considering publishing this very image in tomorrows edition!!
