ISS & Space Shuttle Atlantis Docked! was created by Frank Ryan
Just caught the ISS & Shuttles passover.
WOW!
Nice detail that can be seen...
I would have NEVER thought this was even possable with a small scope!
(Does anyone know was there a spacewalk happening  )

I managed to get around 5000 frames this time...
out of that I have 2 good sequences.
(One of 40 frames & the other 20) and a bunch of good clear single stills.
Here is one frame from the 40 second capture.

I'm going to work on the 2 good sets of frames now and
see can I get a few better images with Registax. :D

Excellent stuff there Frank, Good sharp detail visible there.
If you wind out when there is a spacewalk, maybe you can catch them giving you a wave :)
For this kind of imaging, its all about tracking, I had planned to get a shot with the 12" of this fly over but I had entered the my co-ordinates incorrectly (base10 instead of degrees/mins) which put the ISS about 2 degrees away from the camera, I found the error afterwards and it now seems to be tracking "normal" satellites pretty well, so I'm hoping to get something at the 00.40 flyover. If I got anything as good as what you got there, I'd be very happy.

Well, it didnt work out as well as I'd hoped, the images were all blurry due to motion, maybe next time. :?

:(
Thats a pain.
What kind of framerate did you use out of curiosity?

I got 40 good frames and stacked them in Registax
Here is the result...
What do you think?

Dear Frank,

Please accept my sincerest congrats for these GREAT captures. I am truly impressed with the quality of the photos and the perfect exposure. For the latter, did you have some AUTO setting or was it preset and, if so, at what value?

I hope you are aware of the fact that one of these gems is lead photo on SpaceWeather.

Excellent work!

The work that amateurs are doing in photography is simply amazing, the detail is stunning, the solar panels, the ISS main body, it all.

How long will it be before we see a shot of an astronaut looking out the window?
