Dear Friends ... and SM,
One of the dimmest DSO's within the Messier list and certainly amongst the Messier globulars is M56 in Lyra. It is characterized with a small apparent diameter (7.1') and a poorly concentrated core. The brightest member stars are only mag 13.
For a result based on 2-hrs total exposure, I kindly direct you to www.perseus.gr/Astro-DSO-NGC-6779.htm . The image was taken under volatile seeing and strong winds.

Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better programs, and the universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the universe is winning.

Hi Anthony
I think that is one of your best images yet. One of the hardest things to do in astrophotography is reproducing what you see in the eyepiece and you did it there mate.
Well done fantastic.

Perfect image yet again Anthony!
Just wondering: do you ever get bored producing consistently excellent images all the time?

Anthony - couldn't resist that. In all fairness (and this isn't a critisism) with a setup such as you have, the perfect weather you seem to have heaps of and you own personal skills, I really wouldn't expect any different from you.
I know you're a perfectionist and, well, your dedication speaks for itself (ref Denis DeCoco). So, I'd be surprised if you ever posted a dud.
But keep them coming! We love 'em and they always inspire.
Thanks for sharing yet another super image.
