Carl,
Again well done.
Couple of more questions.
1. CGE is secured by single rod at centre between the two plates (nut and bolt) ??
2. How high above the first plate are the three threaded rods and how far apart from the centre ?
3. From the top of the second plate how high is the mount and OTA at zeinth ?
4. Width of the plates and Pier ?
As discussed nearly there...............regards David

Hi Dave,
Q 1= first of all we have to take the tri pod apart witch is no problem it's just 6 screws. A treaded bar goes into the part that the electrical pier sits on.now you just put 1 nut on then to brace it.
Q2= 4 inches & 6 inches out from center.
Q 3 Its 4foot from base of mount to tip of the OTA.at zeinth
Q4 the Width of the plates 15 inches across. what width is your pier.

Very impressive Carl,
Now, where do you live again?

Carl,
The threaded bar that is in the CGE mount - how do you get this out to replace it with the new one from the pier ??? Mines stuck fast and am afraid to pull too much as I'll ruin the thread on it. I have the nut loose but cannot get the bar to come away from the top ???????
Pier's in.

Hi Dave,
It is quite simple just add another nut and lock it tight against the nut on the threaded bar this is were you will need a bit of help. if you hold the vicegrips and the other person can twist the head off.and do the same thing when putting on the new threaded bar for the pier they are quite sturdy so don't be to shy with it.If you have any problems call me on my mobile
Best of luck.looking forward to the opening party.
