Fair play to him, he's just trying to do his best, keeping us young amateur astronomers enlightened with the 'relatively' nearby, jewels of the cosmos.
Didn't realise until I discovered this forum that alot of people are actually really interested in astronomy, I mean anyone that ever asked what I was interested in, I would reply physics & astronomy, would go eh k and look at you like you've two heads...
Good to see there are others out there!

Ah Seanies the main man if youre lookin for a quick reply! I know the feeling Karl! Just today i said to a friend "Thats venus right there" and pointed in a general direction.She replied "what as in the planet or the tennis player???" at that i burst out laughing!

Not that this is a closet society Karl, but when you see that approximately 12 clubs are actively running across the country, plus a few more professional bodies, with almost 1,200 registered members here alone, it's easy to see that astronomy has become one of the more favoured sciences for people growing up!

A friend of mine said to me that been an astronomers in Ireland is like been a member of the Jamaican bob slaying team given the weather here (no disrespect to them, you know what I'm trying to say) :lol:
