Super sketches Dee!
Bray must be the only place in the country getting sun at the mo.
BTW, I just got that book about sketching in the door yesterday - the one written by the group on cluudy nights. Looks good.

Nice representation Dee. That's very similar too what I imaged yesterday (will post soon) it will be nice to compare. Do you find that different media (pastells pencil etc) are better for different objects??

Thanks Michael and Dave
Dave, I enjoy using pastels and conte crayons in particular for lunar sketches. Most of my detailed lunar sketches take over an hour to do and it has been difficult in the bad weather lately to have the luxury of a long run for lunar work with no clouds. So for lunar sketches with a bit of time, pastels and conte work for me.
If only have a short window for the moon then pencil is fast and satisfying
Solar sketching, I am still working out what is best for me, colour wise, materials wise technnique wise, so that's fun
This solar sketch sequence got such a good reaction on CN that Erika Rix made an animation of them
I enjoyed the concentration that day and now it’s fantastic to have it concentrated into this moving solar feast. I look forward to the next sunny day with a busy sun, and to making my own animated sequences.
Here it is

Hey Deirdre those are great! Good to see there's some activity up there. Any time it's been clear (which is rarely) I haven't been able to spot anything but the tiniest proms recently.
By the way, is that a 5x Powermate you're using? You seem to be getting an incredible amount of detail at that magnification. I usually have to go back down to the 2.5x PM if I'm doing visual. Mind me asking what type of 8mm EP you're using?
Cheers,
Trev
