NGC 6995/IC 1340 - SNR in Cygnus was created by ayiomamitis
Dear friends,

I have always had a weakness for the Veil complex and last night I sat down to acquire 4.5 hours of total exposure (LRGB @ 90:60:60:60) for the southeastern portion which comprises of NGC 6995 and IC 1340. I would have liked a little more RGB exposure data but the OTA and pier got too close for comfort.

The result is available at www.perseus.gr/Astro-DSO-NGC-6995.htm ... it is one of the relatively few situations where green does show up as part of the visual spectrum in relation to a DSO object.

Very, very nice Tony. A mosaic of the full thing with this detail would be mind blowing.

Don't worry, he'll come back now with something like "Oops, I forgot!" or something like that.

Anto, the filament structure is amazing. The colours are so sriking, almost make you gasp, especially on the large image. I'm almost curious enough to find me a pair of 3D glasses and see what it looks like through them!

TOp class image Anthony. One of your best ever I think!

I think now I'll just go sell all my astrpophotography gear as I'm obviously wasting my time when I can see images like that here for free.

Truly Magnificent shot Anthony. I don't think I have ever seen the veil represented so well. Imagine what a mosaic of the entire complex would look like  Now there's a challenge!

Congrats on a truly stunning capture mate.

Regards and Clear Skies,

Dave.
