Sorry, it's actually called Dromoland 'Turret'.
It's a small structure on a hill opposite the main gates.
Built for observing the training of horses many moons ago.

Yes, I've also seen the mad beams, they must have been setup by complete idiots. !Excellent shot.Very atmospheric photo.
(P.S.
Architecturally speaking, the object is technically a "folly" in the grounds of Dromoland Castle. I have passed that floodlit "folly" many many times on my journey from Galway to Cork.
The fact that most of the floodlight beams miss it completely has always annoyed me.The floodlights too are "follies".)

Probably the same nutters who set up the floodlights for Bunratty.
