Hi Anthony

I think your pictures prove your points quite eloquently! I think I’ll stick to the “KIS” principle; “Keep It Simple” approach for a beginner at the moment until more experience and knowledge is gained with astrophotography. The thoughts of imaging with filters and focusing (and all between clouds, this is Ireland after all) frightens me. Who knows, perhaps a sensitive monochrome camera with filters / wheel could be on the cards next year. You set the standards I would like to achieve someday!

Hi all,

I received a DKM 21AU04_AS camera for review in A&S magazine It's the one to compete with the lumenera. first impressions are Very good.it's USB 2,resolution is 640x480, max60 FPS but the best thing is at a price of 300EURO compared ot 820EURO for the lumenera. looking forward to putting it thouugh it's paces.

And the thing I'm most happy about they let me keep the camera yipeeee.perks of the job I suppose.

imagine it in the Canaries !!! :P :P (we need an emoticon for drooling!)

Here you go...

(Yes, I have way too much time on my hands!)

Lads,
Just out of sheer curiosity
and so I can make a well informed decision.

Can you either give me or point me in the direction of info
as to what is involved exactly when you image with a mono in RGB?
I get the general jist,
You must shoot 3 avi's.
You then have to process each and then combine the 3 finished
images in photoshop?
