Thanks Lads.
I've noticed something in my images for a while now but am unsure what it is. If you look closely at some of the brighter stars, they have a little tail pointing directly up and down. I don't think it is caused by blooming so I'm wondering what is causing it? Any idea anyone? Is it something in the design of the chip mabey, as i've noticed it with each of my scopes.
Thanks,

Michael,
Nice piece of work on a tough object. I also noticed the vertical line through the bright stars which immediately signals blooming. The only other possible suggestion I can make is that perhaps you had one or two subs which had an abrupt guiding correction due to a passing meteor, plane, cosmic ray etc.
It may just be worth it to go back through each sub and see if you have a very small subset which are problematic and responsible for this very slight defect. If nothing else, it may help you avoid a similar problem down the road with other objects should the cause be something else.

Thanks Anthony.
I do get blooming on the brighter stars alright, which is fair enough as I know the ST8 is a NABG camera. I usually see the blooming as a very obvious and bright white line from the star. This can be corrected through the use of the bloom removal tool in Maxim. However, these lines on the other hand appear very faint, which is what's puzzling me.
