Interesting you should mention that - there's a bunch of guys in the US (and around the globe) doing just that. They combine their data-take and also split up the task of imaging different wavelengths and then re-combine the results to get spectacular images. A certain amount of re-scaling has to be done to accommodate the different optical trains. These guys can rapidly accumulate >hundreds< of hours per RGBL channel by working as a team. I wonder what a Greko-Paddy collaberation might achieve!

Great image again Dave.
Would be interesting if Anthony's luminosity could be added to your colour daat?

Dave,
I apologize for seeing your message so late. If you would like my master Lum for playing around with, you are more than welcome to it.
It is 1600x1200 pixels with an image scale of 1.27"/pixel. I have two versions available: (1) fully reduced and deconvolved and (2) same as (1) but also non-linearly stretched.
Each of these two masters is around 7.7 Mb in size (16-bit) and I can make either one or both available.

Jeez Dave, you are really taking off!! That's a superb shot of this galaxy considering there is a lot of stars and dust (galactic that is ) in the way!!
Worthy of publication in any magazine !
