Some cool images there Paul. I really like your Orion one, despite the slight ballooning of the brighter stars (tracking?). Still, the Orion and Reflection nebulae are clearly distinguishable. Wait till you get a really clear night and give it another go.

Thanks Seanie. Actually the Orion image is only 3.2 secs so there's no tracking issue - the balooning of the outer stars arises due to coma in the lens at f1.7 - if I had been awake (it was 0540!) I'd have used 8 secs at f2.8 instead - that would have sharpened things up a bit more. Any more exposure would have brought up the background as dawn was coming in.
