Been completely struggling with colour balance lately. Then I thought Did you put the filters back in the right position after cleaning? The answer was no, green and blue in wrong place. Am complete prat.

Anyway I re combined the eastern and western veil with the blue and green channels swapped to give this

Fantastic images Kieran!!
I know others here will probably disagree, but if it were me I'd tone down the saturation a little in the second image.
Brilliant images though!

Absolutely superb! I guess having the right colours in the right places does make a difference :)

Keiran,

Wonderful images. A++!!

I would disagree with Michael on the saturation, I think it's just perfect! I love the way the spectrum runs through the diffraction spikes on 52 Cygni. On other thing that struck me about the shot of the western portion was how the density of stars is reduced below the SN remnant. Do you know if this is real (maybe due to a dark nebula) or is related to the image processing. It looks great!

Regards and Clear Skies,

Dave.
