Well done there Paul.
The fuzzy green blob of Loneos is quite distinctive there.
It's a little brighter than predicted, fingers x'd it might tail.
ISO3200?
Do you mind me asking what make of camera is that?

Thanks Frank.
My camera is a Minolta Dynax 5D - great for astro work as it has a very usable ISO 3200 mode as well as good red sensitivity which records H-alpha well without modification. Had it two years now and very pleased.

I'd estimate it to be at mag 8.
It's supposed to get to mag 4 by the end of the month.
You should keep imaging it Paul using the same settings to get a sequence.

Was it hard to detect Paul, or just dumb luck you pointed the camera into the general area of sky and got it? Since John O'Neills observation last Thursday, I've only been able to try twice to look for it with no success. Now that I got the little Skylux mount motorised, I'm hoping to try again soon. What time did you take the shot?
