That's certainly one of, if not your best image to date Dave! Beautiful!

I really like that one Dave. The edge-on dust trail almost looks like it was brush stroked in it is so sharp. Definitely has a good depth to the FOV there too.

Thanks for all the kind comments guys. Its funny because I wasn't happy with this one at all. I think often the the person processing an image spends so long looking at the same image you grow to dislike it.
The biggest problem I had with this one was gradients cause by dew on the optics. In fairness, maxim dl has some good tools for dealing with these but my goal is to try avoid the gradients in the first place.
I've ordered a whole pile of dew heater tapes from kendrick in canada. Hopefuly these will solve some of the gradient issues. I've also got a motorised 2" filter wheel ordered too. That will make capturing color data a less tedious affair.
I do love galaxies!

Hi Dave,
I think it's a great shot. The dust lanes are fantastic. You know Chirstmas is coming and I would love a 2" filter wheel of Santa Grennan and an S- BIG and 3 blondes and 4 red heads. And I wil give you Seanie Morris under the Chirstmas tree. Sorry Seanie.

Lovely image again Dave. Gotta love that sharp dust lane down the middle - almost like the sombrero.
