Canis Major and Sirius over the Sea was created by Keith g
Taken from quite a dark night looking out over the Waterford Coast, 11th November. This is Canis Major rising over the sea, you could even see the reflection of Sirius on the water, a cool sight ! You can see the prominent messier clusters M41 under Sirius, along with M46 and M47 to the left. M93 is there also under M46 & M47, another rich area of the milkyway. The streak on the horizon is a ship passing by.
I've done little processing on this one as it represents what the sight was like, apart from a little high cloud at bottom. Canon 400D, 28mm 'L' lens at f3.5, 3 minute single exposure at ISO 800.
