I just took this picture of Mars (for fun) using my Nikon coolpix L5 mounted on a tripod. No telescope involved. I kinda like it.

Moons? i cant see any. I'll invert the colour and have a look. There are two other objects in the frame. Probably just stars!?!.

Hey nice.... Never thought you could see the disk of Mars without some kind of telescope or binos :)

I'm lucky that my little coolpix has a great zoom on it. (5X optical zoom)

Are the 2 moons the 2 specs at 9 and 12 oclock relative to Mars, they look like hot pixels to me.
The first go of Mars i've seen without a telescope.
