M81 / M82 & NGC 3077 was created by Gary Clarke
Hi Guys,

Gave narrowband a miss for this week and tried my hand at a bit of LR(HA)GB imaging. Here's the result;

webtreatz.com/component/option,com_zoom/...geNo,2/key,16/hit,1/

12th January 2008, Clonee Observatory Dublin.
Taken through a Williams ZS 80EDII, piggybacked on a CGE 11. Self guided with the SBIG ST8-XME. Astronomik CLS, HA, G, B filters. WO MKII 0.8x flattener/reducer.
L+HA = 220 + 60 (12 x 10m, 8 x 15m, 6 x 10(HA))
R = HA (additional 60) (6 x 10m)
G = 60 (6 x 10m)
B = 60 (6 x 10m)

Processing, Images Plus v2.75, Maxim, CS2.

Regards,

Gary.

That's very nice Gary. Nice natural-looking colour. Alot of time gone into that image and the result is very nice.

Just wondering, how did you combine the L and Ha to get the Luminance for the image?

When combining the images, which method did you use? Sigma Clip? Median?

Cheers,

Michael,
I just included the 6x10min of Ha with the L when I combined and aligned in Images plus.

Now that's a very good shot Gray, I like how you have captured the hydrogen areas in M81's arms plus the central area of M82. Well done, I see you put in a great effort.
