M42, M43 & NGC1977 was created by TrevorDurity
Hey all,
Got myself a 30D a while back so am trying the DSOs again (& sticking to an easy one for now . I must say I'm impressed by the camera, it seems more sensitive than the Sac10 I was using last year.
So here's the Orion Nebular and Running Man from Friday. I never did capture the running man with the Sac10 so it was a surprise that it came out here.
Megrez90 on ASGT, guided with PHD & B&W webcam through a WO66 & GPUSB.
20x120 sec for main nebula & NGC1977
30x30 sec for core
20x2 sec for trap
Each stack created in Nebulosity
Curves, levels & merged the three resultant stacks in Photoshop.

Fantastic image Trevor. Pardon me for asking, but would it take much to create a tutorial on the processing involved in this image? Deep space photo processing is wildly different from standard photos and to create an image like this is currently beyond my limit, even though I can use photoshop ( to an extent). if it would be too much work then no worries.
