Sorry lads, that post is a bit misleading.
I used the 12'' for visual observing
For the Saturn image I used the ETX-125 (Thats the 5'' in my avitar)
with a 2XBarlow & the SPC900.

I have to say the pic does no justice to what I saw in the scope.

I dont think any image of Saturn does justice to what you see in the scope.

Nice little image there Frank, you've captured some great detail there.

Hi Frank
That is a neat little image of Saturn with good detail; I really like it, well done!
I just have a number of questions, which hopefully are not too silly or long winded as they say; I am just starting out in this astrophotography malarkey.

Did you process AVIs in Registax or some other program? What was the duration of the AVIs, e.g., 10 sec, 20 sec etc before trailing or image degradation occurs? You were imaging at F30 focal length for this image, is this correct assumption, is it more difficult to image with x5 Barlow regarding tracking issues or are you using some auto guiding as well? Did you manage to work out the image scales using your webcam/telescope and Barlow combination, which worked best in your opinion?

I have been contemplating purchasing one of the DMK models recently!!!

Steve, an Imaging Source DFK firewire camera arrived only days ago to my door, I have it attached to the C8 with a f6.6 FR between it and the telescope, haven’t tried it out in the field yet but I have been learning about the software it came with (IC Capture.AS) which is simply amazing and relatively easy to use, can’t wait to try some imaging of the Moon.
