Declan,
The new focuser is a world of difference to the old rack and pinion - nice and smooth plus the 1:10 speed really makes the difference for fine tuning. A lot less vibration and settle down time after adjusting focus also. On the negative side I will need to order an extension tube in order to use eyepieces and webcam - at the moment I have a work around by removing the lens from an Omni Barlow that I had spare, it gives me that extra bit of out-focus necessary.

Hey John i'm glad you like the new focuser i
just got a williams optics 66mm apo it's rack
and pinion but it has the 1:10 fine ajustment
and i find it great.I have also just purchase
an extension tube for the 80ED i too was
using the barlow tube for the extra length
needed for back focus

Not a bad image at all John,
You might want to increase the brightness in registax at the end before you save it, its a tad bit dark, but there is some nice detail in there all the same.
