Lovely image Keith. Is the skyline (mostly trees by the look of it) blurred due to wind?
I'd imagine the trees are blurred due to tracking the stars to get the long exposure required to get the milkyway to come out.
Lovely shot Keith but I do notice a definite green colour-cast on it for some reason.

No wind Dave, that just the tracking as the scope goes by
It looks like that might be a downside to using this filter, I too see a lot of green, but I'll work on that in future if I can Michaelthe colour of the stars appear green
Frank, here are the details of the filter:What are the details on the filter?
How do you attach it to the camera?
www.astronomik.com/english/eng_eos_filter_clip_system.html
as you can see it slips right in between the sensor and the lens (except an ef-s lens)
It's a pity I don't, but I'll do that next time as I was caught out by the twighlight.....do you have any filter on, filter off comparison shots
Do you think the red enhancement is deliberate of the filter, or a fluke of seeing conditions
Seanie I honestly don't know, but I can tell you that for all my shooting through the years, the red nebulae are definitely more prominent than without using this filter, I don't think it was the conditions as it was a 'normal night seeing wise..
