From that image of Ireland i guess we all know which 6 cities not to live in.
Now which road out of Dublin would be the best to take?

Paul,
if you tell them they can be seen by the space station, they might say "Cool" and leave them on.
thats an amazing image you have in your post. I now have a new wallpaper for the laptop.

I overlayed it on Google Earth.
You can spot (obviously) Cork, Limerick, Shannon Town & Ariport, Ennis & Galway.
I'm surprised to even see Bunratty but
the great thin is that big chunk of black between Ennis & Galway....
Long may it continue!

If you drive past Bunratty Castle at night you can see that it is the most outrageously over-floodlit building in Ireland.
No contest !
Mark.
Anybody who says that Earthshine is reflected Sunshine is talking Moonshine.

Your right and do you know what else..
if they reduced the lighting and put in a few carefully selected spots
then it would make it more atmospheric.
I went down there one morning last week when it was foggy to take
some non astro 'beauty' shots (kill me now)
and I drove off home laughing coz they had 2 spots pointing onto the river
like laser beams.
