Nice large prom now, Christmas tree shape at about five past twelve as I look at it in the PST. Time 07:25 local time. Filament also seen close by.

I've really got to start getting up earlier. This is the 4th morning in a row where I've seen blue skies out of bed but it's been cloudy by the time I finished breakfast.

Nonetheless, I did manage a quick sketch of the Christmass Tree (or rocket ship) in between the clouds. I've left room for a second frame, so we'll see if the clouds cooperate before I scan it in.

Thanks for the heads-up, Deirdre!

Cheers,
-- Jeff.

Yes the trend visually has switched toward a rocket ship. in the last while.
Busy prom, nice to watch and sketch every 20 mins or so, cloud permitting.

Well, I managed to get two frames in during breaks in the clouds. My parallelogram mount is out in the rain right now as I type this (I did bring the scope in).

(I was going to include the sketches, but I'm on a new laptop and I just realized that I haven't installed GoLive yet so I've got no way to get the JPGs up to my website. More later....)

Up early , took a look at the sun , had to have a go at this Christmas tree shaped prom. It took on a Thunderbird rocket shape later in the morning.
Cloud and rain stopped play.

June 14th 07:25am - 12:06 pmlocal time
PST 40/8mmTVP eyepiece/50X
South is up, white circles just to show location of prom as I viewed it
Filament just below the prom, also shown.

I have to download Tilting sun again, due to Vista problem.
