ive found sites that have cracked various parts of the canon firmware to allow for features only available on higher end models. nobody has yet cracked the live view for the 400d yet though. im not sure if its just firmware, or new hardware also, but it would be nice if it was just a software thing and someone could crack it.

As nice as the 450D is, id rather save my money for some new lens's.

It's certainly cheaper than a 450D, but so it should be, it's a less capable camera.

It's the same thing as car ranges - When the VW Golf got bigger, so did the Polo behind it and they then introduced the Lupo for those who didn't want a bigger car.

seems to be as capable as the 400D though, and better in some respects (live view) :x

Live focus is theee selling point for the 450D, give it 12 months and this camera will be going cheap. If you already have a DSLR then you'd be alot better off waiting a small while longer

That's what I am waiting for :D How many nights have I played around in the freezing cold looking to get a very good focus, only for it to change when the temperature does.

I'll welcome that !

Keith,

Have you used DSLRFocus V.3 This might solve the focus problem when their is a change in temperature. It can be used on all DSLR cameras.

I also recommend DSLR Focus, very handy with the Canon DSLR's, complete remote control via your pc/notebook.
