I too had planned to take a shot of the full moon rising
over Bunratty Castle but I got my times wrong
and as I was heading out the door I noticed the Moon already up.
Next time I'll set an alarm!!

Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better programs, and the universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the universe is winning.

Beautiful images here Anthony, made all the more pleasing because of the effort you made to get the right position for the shot.
Always a pleasure to see your work and thanks for sharing.

Congratulations on the APOD Anthony, it's a fabulous image - my wife thinks so too and she's not easily impressed!

Gents,
A huge thanks for your kind words surrounding this latest image and which turned out very nice, thus making the effort most worthwhile.
I sincerely hope to see a similar effort from one or more friends here on the IFAS board involving the rising moon.
We were fortunate today to also have similar honors with Lunar Photo of the Day where John Doukoumopoulos has a really neat animation of the event based on the 17 images he took and which can be viewed at the-moon.wikispaces.com/LPOD+June+20%2C+2008 .

I would also like to add my congratulations Anthony on
a wonderfully framed image .APOD that's exactly where
it should be, my own plans were halted by a combination
of the current position of the jet stream and our ring side
seat to the atlantic ocean
