A grand image there Carl,
Like Franks says there seems to be some sort of stacking error in there, I also see it in you previous image.
Maybe a bad reference frame or including some bad frames in the stack, maybe try running it again with less frames.

Hi Guys,
Believe or not it's not a processing artefact they are in every Mars image. As Eamonn said "Its the bright terminator you are looking at" .Dave Tyler was processing a Mars image over in Selsey and he was showing me this bright terminator,at this stage he had 10,000 frames done. So when he had his RGB combined there it was this big bright artefact. I asked Dave why does this occur when imaging Mars and he said it is due to the extremely bright terminator and can be eliminated by using photoshop with the clone stamp tool and the right pixel size settings. DG was there also maybe he can explain it better then I can.

Quit griping and go some work for the MPC for a change - slacker...
Carl - nothing more to add to the folks above other than a nice image.
I wonder how many images we have out there that we forget about and *never* get around to processing...

I have to say Carl, I've never seen it on any images before, forget mine they don't have the image scale.
IF you look at Damien Peachs images, you don't see it.

Maybe he has processed it out,

On a second though, just to make sure we're talking about the same thing, I'm referring to the dark line that follows the edge of the planet on the left hand side of the image all the way down to the lower ice cap.

Hi Dave,
That is exactly what they do. Damien knows how to process it out. I don't,just one of the reasons why he is the best in the world at planetary imaging. It's great he coming to WSP. Damien is a very quiet lad but when he comes out of his shell you will have great crack with him.
