Well I finally got an Image with the new scope Not the best time of the year for DSO. But it was clear so what the hell, to make matters worse it was a full moon also there was no darks or flats taken with this image.exposures where 15 x 4minutes.
So image taken on 18th of June through a William Optics FLT-110 Triplet APO refractor Atik 16Hr cdd camera. Guided with a Celestron 80ED And Sac 4.2 ccd camera with phd guiding software On a CGE mount. Processed in ImagesPlus V3 and Photoshop CS2
That is a mouth full .

Well done Carl,
Can't wait to see your RGBs through this new scope.
As Dave said - sooo many stars - we've just spent a fruitless night peering through cloud just to catch 1 or 2 carbon stars, weather in this country really sucks :x
I wanna go back to Greece sooo bad!

That's pretty good Carl considering the full moon and the time of year.
What method do you use for focusing?

Carl - a nice image.
The central portion seems fine - reasonably tight, focused and round stars. But if you look to the lower right corner, the stars are getting a bit "eggy" - less so in the upper right corner. Stars in the left upper and lower corners seem less affected.
Any ideas what's going on? Pinched optics? Something else? The thought of field rotation crossed my mind but you're using an equatorial mount so that's unlikely...
How many sub images make up the final image and what are the exposure times?
Cheers
Dave

Wonderful image Carl
I still find it hard to believe that most of the best images I have seen from these boards are taken from heavily light polluted Dublin close to the city centre. Awesome.
