I think you may be talking about the software
that comes with the older version of the SPC900 (the toucam pro)?
The Phillips SPC900 has different software called V Lounge
which comes with the webcam.
Unless they have changed it since I bought it 2 years ago
that programme wont let you turn off audio and so
Registax considers the file invalid.
This is why I had to use K3CCD tools.
Also Joanna,
you say the webcam is modded.
What modifications did you make exactly?
Are you talking about attaching a barrel for the eyepiece
or did you modify the electronics?

Here is the registax tutorial I put up.
www.irishastronomy.org/forum?func=view&catid=29&id=39009
I have your tutorial since when you uploaded it Dave but as I didn't have a webcam at the time I never read it (that reading will keep me quite for a while)
I tried Registax over the weekend with the video I did take but as Frank said it didn't recognise the file.
What modifications did you make exactly?
What I meant was removing the original lens and replacing it with the adapter to fit the diagonal.
When I've more photos/video sorted I'll put them up.

Really,? thats a bit mad.
the older toucam recording program is also called vlounge, and that one does work.

It's worse than that.
to get the pc system to initially recognise the camera
you have to install Vlounge.
Then you can use either K3's software or the old toucam
software (if you know someone that still has the disk)
or another one some of the lads use here.
I've done / used all of them and consistently
have found the best thing to do is
(if you are running a pc with xp 2000)
to load the software that comes with the camera and then
also load K3ccd tools (or equivalent) then on start-up the
Vlounge recognises the camera and it comes to life,
all you do then is open K3ccd tools (or equivalent) for recording astro AVI's e.g. avi's with no audio.

This is why I had to use K3CCD tools.
Am I correct in thinking that this is not freeware (not that I have a problem paying for it as it's highly recommended)
I've had a look at the website Frank gave for the download earlier in this post and was wondering does anyone know if V3 is bug free or should I stick with V2 which is probably tried and tested (I'm running Windows Vista)
It's worse than that.

It's even worse than that. I spent 2 hours trying to get the laptop to recognise the camera. I ended up installing the drivers over the web through the download option under Device Manager.
