An Active limb today oct 21st

There was an active solar limb today with many proms. Grabbed this b4 those thunderstorms came in.

What time was that taken? I rotated/flipped my sketch to match the orientation of your photo, and they look quite similar. (Mine was 11:40 local time, 10:40UT.)

perfect timing Jeff mine was between 11:38 to 11:40 local. This was taken 11:10 local and seems to show the dimmer proms more like your sketches.

Indeed, it does.

I record the time after I'm finished, and there's usually a bit of touch-up at the end, so I guess my sketch actually records what I was looking at from about 11:20 to 11:35.

In both versions the details are very well paralled and it's like looking at a colour and negative image. Wish I could draw.
